Cheese Rolling Without a License?
The English do not part easily with tradition. For nearly 200 years (supposedly), and for reasons as inscrutable as human nature, citizens have gathered at the top of Cooper's Hill in Gloucestershire in order to race to the bottom in pursuit of a wheel of Double Gloucester. Officially, the 2010 event had been cancelled due to health and safety reasons -- when you watch the video, you'll see that the cheese is not the only thing that rolls down the hill -- but unofficially, the race took place on May 31.
