Rogue Creamery's Flora Nelle
The San Francisco Chronicle has got the scoop on the latest offering from the Oregon cheese-masters over at Rogue Creamery: Flora Nelle, a scrump-diddly-umptious blue cheese -- and their first using pasteurized milk. Check out the story and lust over some action shots of this gorgeous cheese.
Released at three months, Flora Nelle has a pebbly, mold-coated natural rind; an ivory paste with plentiful blue-gray veining; and a toasty aroma. The interior is fudgy, rich and creamy, with the surprising crunch of fine protein crystals. Some samples have been mellow and approachable; others more peppery.
