SHOT AND A BEER DUTCH STYLE

Last year, Alex Ganum and Upright Brewing made a special Kopstootje Biere to pair with Bols Genever in a Northwest interpretation of the traditional Dutch Kopstootje or “little head butt” — genever sipped from a brimming tulip glass and followed with a beer. ..but not just any beer: Ganum’s Kopstootje Biere is the perfect complement — a biere de garde lightly spiced with botanicals also used in Bols Genever to make a beautiful, dry, complex beer with a hint of malt. The combination debuts at the Hop & Vine and will soon be available at other bars, including Beaker and Flask, Circa 33, Grain & Gristle, Interurban, Spints Alehouse and Sunshine Tavern.
