"Moo Man" Documentary Featured at Sundance

The World Cinema Documentary category at this year's Sundance Film Festival will feature "Moo Man," a film about Hook and Son Dairy in East Sussex, UK. While Hook and Sons have gained notariety in their community for selling raw milk, the film focuses on the way they farm-- a method that is declining in popularity as people lose touch with the connection between food and its origins.

"Moo Man" closely follows the relationship between Stephen Hook and his cows, particularly Ida, his favorite. His close relationship with his animals has earned him the nickname "cow whisperer," and the connection is evident as we see Hook walk with his cows through birth, daily life, and eventually death. Hook boasts that his cows live happier, longer lives than those on regular dairy farms, but laments that this way of life is in danger as fewer young people choose to enter the world of farming.
