Take a leaf from the book of these cheesemakers. Oregon's Rogue Creamery and Andante Dairy in Petaluma wrap their wares in grape leaves and fig leaves, making their cheeses look aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Cheese enthusiasts also love the earthy flavor the leaves provide.
Before the development of modern packaging, cheesemakers relied on natural wraps to protect their cheeses en route to market. Nature conveniently provided materials free for the taking, such as chestnut, fig and grape leaves, ferns and cabbage leaves.
