Grilled Cheese Mix and Match
Wine and cheese, beer and cheese; it sometimes takes an expert to determine the best marriage of flavors between cheese and beverage. But what of the familiar grilled cheese sandwich? There are other bread and cheese possibilities to make the perfect pairing that goes beyond the usual white bread and American cheddar combo. Pumpernickel, sourdough; edam and tilsit; these are matches made in heaven.
Few foods I love more than cheese. The stinkier, the better. Which is why I jumped at the chance to help find the best grilled cheese in the city. Here are the results. My “research” led me to Rick Woods, who has the best job and title in the business.
