The Collegiate Dairy Products Evaluation Contest Trains Young Adult Palates
Football, field hockey, soccer...who needs college sports when you've got the Collegiate Dairy Products Evaluation Contest? Participating students must train their palate to accurately identify defects in various dairy products, including cheddar cheese, yogurt, butter, and ice cream. The downside? Thanks to their newly refined palates, these students will likely never be able to enjoy dairy on a college budget ever again!
"I put my team participation on my resume, for sure," said Ann Pataky, a graduate student from Champaign, Ill.
It also can turn you into a bit of a milk snob.
"I can't buy cheap vanilla ice cream. Forget it," Schoenfuss said. "I will not buy milk in clear containers because I can taste the oxidation."
