Beer and Bacon Ice Cream Float
Rhode Island's Custom House Coffee was eager to have unique desserts on their menu, and when a beer salesman suggested bacon as an ingredient, owner Reggie Doumaney became inspired to create this masterpiece: the Bacon Beer Float. It's the ultimate in manly decadence.
The float is made with Berkshire Brewing Co. Porter, three scoops of vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and topped with chocolate-covered bacon and, of course, a cherry.The chocolate-covered bacon is made right in the Custom House Coffee kitchen. “I make a melted chocolate and dip the bacon in it, and let it harden. It's the sweet and salt together," Reggie said.
